Creatures

Interior Design
What happens when a piece of furniture stops being merely a functional object and becomes a creature with a character, a body, a name, and a presence? Creatures is a sculptural and colorful final project that explores the relationship between furniture and its user. The project presents an unconventional furniture collection in which each piece is a creature, standing on its own as an independent character within the space, one figure in a private mythology. The project began with a personal process of discovering a visual language: intuitive patches of color, outlined in black, became “clouds” that revealed wild forms and characters asking to be brought into the real world. From this world emerged sculptural pieces of furniture with distinct graphic skins, bold colors, and an almost living presence. Each piece carries its own trait, role, and hidden ability: it can support, contain, conceal, invite, comfort, or disrupt. The project seeks to bring imagination, storytelling, and a deeper emotional connection with objects back into the living environment. It responds to the adult human need for objects that evoke curiosity, identification, and conversation. Creatures are not merely functional solutions, but presences within a space, creating a kind of telepathic dialogue with the user and the viewer. The development process moved between hand drawing, physical wooden models, digital modeling, and a dialogue with artificial intelligence tools. Moving between hand, material, and technology allowed each piece of furniture to gradually develop its own language, until it acquired a body, a “skin,” and a distinct character of its own. Creatures blurs the boundaries between design, art, and storytelling; between functional furniture and an object that feels alive through its presence; between the living space and an inner, personal, and mysterious world.
