Between the Stalls | The Market as a Community Space

Interior Design
The project is located in Ramla Market and emerged from research on food waste and surplus food within the urban system. It proposes viewing produce that remains unsold at the end of the trading day not as waste, but as a resource that can generate new activity- through collection, sorting, processing, cooking, distribution, and resale. From this approach, a community center was created as an integral part of the market, extending its activity beyond trading hours. Alongside the community kitchen, spaces for gathering, learning, making, leisure, and recreation were added, with the aim of transforming the market from a place that operates primarily for commerce into an active community space throughout the day.
