UNDERCUT
Industrial Design
**What happens when the tool that creates the object remains and becomes part of it?**
UNDERCUT is a series of lighting objects exploring the encounter between hot glass and brass. During the blowing process, the glass expands within an open, modular system of brass elements that position it, constrain its expansion, and shape its form. As the two materials meet, geometric locks are formed, capturing the brass within the glass. The elements that shape the glass during production remain in the final object, becoming part of its structure and design language.
In UNDERCUT, the means of production does not disappear at the end of the process.
**It becomes the object.**
