Jerusalem Urban Courtyard

The project is a multifunctional social centre serving Jerusalem's student community and the wider local community. The center is located in Jerusalem's city center, near Mahane Yehuda Market; it provides shared spaces that strengthen the presence of students within the urban environment and support the development of an active community that is integrated into city life. The centre operates throughout the day and night, actively involving students in its management, programming and activities. The project is based on the integration and overlap of different uses that take place simultaneously throughout the day. Its programme creates a continuum between learning, work, leisure, and social interaction, enabling natural transitions between them. The spatial organisation creates a gradient of interaction from spaces for concentration to spaces for gathering, and from individual to group activity, allowing for varied use of the space according to different modes of occupancy.
